This past weekend, Casa Pacifica in Camarillo, CA held their annual Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival. Casa Pacifica helps kids who have been abused, neglected, or are dealing with complex emotional and behavioral issues and family crises. From their website: "We restore hope, help children find joy in daily living, and improve families’ chances at making a better life for themselves and at finding a place in their community where they can be successful."
It's a great cause, so I decided to donate a Zinfandel Grape Necklace for their silent auction. I made this necklace by taking a reproduction of one of my acrylic paintings and then attaching it to a repurposed French chandelier crystal. This is one of several styles of handcrafted chandelier crystal necklaces I've created.
I'm happy to say that there was a bit of a bidding war! (It might've helped to have a piece of wine jewelry at a wine-themed event. :) ) When the bidding closed, the winner went home with a one-of-a-kind necklace and all proceeds from the silent aucion benefitted Casa Pacifica and the kids they help. Win win.
