The days are growing shorter and the air is getting cooler, so it's time to put away the summer clothes and dress in a proper fall outfit! Well maybe you don't have to put away all the summer clothes - you can always layer a tank top under a soft cashmere sweater to protect against chilly air conditioned office buildings and chilly nights out after work. This pretty fall outfit is professional enough for work but not too stuffy for happy hour.
It’s not uncommon for me to build an outfit around a piece of jewelry, and this fall outfit came together in just that way. I started with my Amethyst Leaf and Twig necklace. The twig is dark brown with touches of bronze. I attached a single sparkling amethyst-colored glass crystal and a hand-molded and painted polymer clay grape leaf. It hangs right at the collarbone and creates an elegant neckline with a simple v-neck tank top and lilac cashmere cardigan with a satin bow that highlights the waist. My Amethyst Wine earrings and Lavender Glass Bracelet are the perfect complements. The color of the chocolate brown trousers pairs beautifully with the lilac sweater. I finished this fall outfit off with a rich brown leather tote and cute, strappy platform sandals. I’m guilty of trying to get away with open-toed sandals as long as possible before it gets too cold! Being in Southern California, I can get away with it for quite awhile!
