My favorite place for a weekend getaway is to go wine tasting in Paso Robles. Imagine driving up California’s beautiful central coast with your sweetheart to the tiny town of Cambria. You check into your cute little hotel, which feels more like a bed and breakfast. Your room has a cozy fireplace and an ocean-front view with a window seat. It's just perfect. You spend the morning walking hand-in-hand down the wooden pathways stretched along the length of Moonstone Beach, named for the bits of moonstone peppered within its dark sand. You head to Main Street and browse through sweet old-fashioned storefronts housing art galleries and eclectic shops. You find a sparkly glass candleholder that will look so pretty lit up on the dining table (see a few of my home decorating ideas and my Home Collection).
Right outside of Cambria is scenic Highway 46 to Paso Robles. The highway winds through grassy hills and rows of vineyards planted long ago. Oak groves line the curving mountain roads that branch off toward more wineries that you could possibly visit even during a long weekend getaway - and that's before you even get to Paso Robles! You select a few wineries and step into the first tasting room. It has rustic wood floors and repurposed wine barrels topped with glass to make cool little tables.
You really needed this weekend getaway. It's been awhile since you've been out of town and the beautiful scenery is a relaxing reprieve from the stresses of life. It's so nice to finally get a chance to spend some time alone with your guy with no worries, no plans, no responsibilities. It's the perfect time to reconnect. As you sip and swirl each wine in the flight, you take a mental picture – and maybe even a selfie – to remind yourself later of this moment.
As you're looking around the tasting room, you notice a jewelry display off to the side, and of course you have to take a peek. Jewelry and wine are two of your guilty pleasures! You spot a beautiful wine-themed necklace, and you think about how it'll be the perfect memory of your weekend getaway trip to Paso Robles. The necklace is definitely a statement piece, and you can dress it up or down.
